EMC Designer

The EMC Designer gives you a revolutionary convenient interface for fast prototyping of your calculation model. It controls easily the powerful solver modules and access the results.

The EMC Designer is a graphical user interface to model your calculation task in a very sophisticated and intuitive way to define the parameters for the solver modules and to visualize the results.

Based on the fact, that realistic model generation can be a very complicated task that requires knowledge of a number of tricky tools. Model generation might destroy a promising simulation project due to its complexity. This was the motivation why we have developed the program package EMC Studio. EMC Designer gives you an interface that includes many programs and help you to solve even very complicated problems.

Days or week consuming tasks, when using other tools, can be reduced to some mouse clicks. The normal design process starts with the geometry generation. With EMC Designer you can either generate the geometry model based on geometrical primitives like plates, triangles, cylinders and spheres or you can import files from other meshing program like e.g. ANSA, MEDINA, FEMAP or PATRAN in NASTRAN or PATRAN format.

Complicated cable harnesses can be modeled by hand very easily by just setting with mouse clicks construction points on the metallic structures. Based on the construction points cables can be directly defined. If cable harness data is already available from CAD programs in XML or STEP AP 212 data format, this data can be imported to EMC Studio. Additional import filters are available on request.

Comfortable bundling tools offer exact and random bundling. Autorouting option is available. To adjust a cable harness on a complex metallic structure fitting functions are implemented. The adjustment of the height of a complex cable harness on a car body requires for example only some mouse clicks.

The following cable types are supported:

  Single wire cables
Twisted pair cables (several comfortable construction and calculation algorithms)
  Shielded cables, simple and complex

Rod structures like antennas can be defined and meshed directly in an intuitive way. Sources, loads and even very complicated termination structures can be modeled with a schematic capture program or given as text file in SPICE 3f5 syntax.

According to the defined objects a method for solution is proposed. EMC Designer offers you full control to all EMC Modules of EMC Studio and a set of 3rd party solvers.
