Static3D

The Three-dimensional static solver Static3D is a program for the extraction of capacitance/ inductance matrices of the complicated 3-dimensional metallic structures placed in free space or over ground plane. Surface structures (both open and closed) and arbitrary shaped wires structures can be calculated with Static3D.

The core of Static3D is based on the Method of Moments (MoM) to numerically solve the Electric Field Integral Equations (EFIE) for the static distributions of charges on wires and surfaces. Inductances are extracted using analogy between magneto-static and electrostatic problems. Well-known basis functions for the surface and segment charges have been applied in Static3D to properly approximate static charge distributions on the whole structure. Two specially developed solvers including an out-of-core solver are included into Static3D for solving the systems of linear equations to obtain the coefficients of the charge expansion. Once these coefficients are found, charge distributions on the whole structure are obtained, and the desired characteristics of the structure are calculated.

A number of user-friendly original preprocessing and visualization tools such as Static3DEdit, EMC Studio and ReMesh are compatible and can be used to control the input data and process the results.
