EMC Studio v7.0

New Advanced Tools for Vehicle Glass Antenna Construction

EMC Studio v7.0 provides new advanced tools and substantial improvement of procedure for glass antenna construction.

Construction of Antenna Pattern:

  • Automatization of antenna pattern pre-processing (reduce pre-processing time from one week up to 2 hours)
  • Full automatization of procedure required to generate discrete model for glass surface and antenna pattern (obtain guaranteed result within several minutes)
  • Improved handling of glass antenna to assign physical properties (substantial improvement in GUI)

Construction of Antenna Cables:

  • Generation of 3D MoM model for wires passing in route tubes

Construction of Antenna Pigtails:

  • Automatic generation of wires on defined base points and length

Extended Functionality for Multi Task Calculation

Multi Task solution in EMC Studio v7.0 allows to use combination of fast calculation techniques (Multi Excitation Solution and Matrix Partitioning Method) for optimization and tuning purposes. Advanced GUI tools give flexible possibility to prepare simulation model and configure calculation tasks.

Model Partitioning: model geometry needs to be divided into main (Base Layer) and additional parts (Additional Layers).

Excitation Sets Definition: all excitations need to be combined into groups (Excitation Sets).

Computational Tasks Definition: after model partitioning and excitation sets definition, all layers and sets are combined into special groups (Tasks) that form the computational tasks and can be executed in user defined sequence.

Flexible Definition of Z Level for Infinite Ground Plane

Very often imported geometry models intersect ground plane. For such cases model adjustment above ground can be done very easily by defining required Z level for ground plane. This way is more flexible than applying transformation operations on imported model. By default, ground plane is placed in z=0. It is possible to shift ground plane along Z axis by defining required Z Level value in Ground Properties dialog.

Advanced Control of Sources and Fields Calculation Parameters

  • Definition of phase center for plane wave sources
  • Definition of phase center and local coordinate system for far field observation region
  • Definition of local coordinate system for export of calculated near field data

Support of BICGSTAB Matrix Solver in EM Analysis Type

EMC Studio v7.0 provides combination of effective acceleration techniques supported in TriD solver for solving electrically large EMC problems:

  • BICGSTAB (Biconjugate Gradient Stabilised) method for numerical solution of linear systems
  • ACA (Adaptive Cross Approximation) technique for matrix compression and memory reduction
  • SPAI (Sparse Approximate Inverse) preconditioner to speed up convergence of iterative solver

Advanced Construction of Impressed Current Sources

EMC Studio v7.0 provides new functionality for advanced construction of impressed current sources:

  • Impressed current source generation based on curves defined in Geometry Mode
  • Creation of multi-segmental impressed current objects
  • Handling of impressed currents sub-segments (add, delete, modify)
  • Impressed current element boundary points definition based on existing geometry points
  • 2D and 3D view of impressed current data
  • Operations on impressed currents sub-segments (export to file, create new impressed current based on selected sub-segments, create termination nodes, merge impressed currents, etc.)

New Stochastic Analysis Method

EMC Studio v7.0 provides improved calculation of stochastic bundles and advanced tools for its analysis. Stochastic analysis method allows characterizing a system of stochastic cable bundle by performing a number of simulations of a given system and applying statistical processing methods to calculated data. Obtained results are visualized as stochasticity map with colors indicating result probability in each map region.
